Nilofer Merchant is the author of 2 strategy books. “11 Rules for Creating Value in the #SocialEra” (Harvard Press, September 12, 2012) argues that “Social” is more than “Media”; Social can and should become the backbone of business models, increasing performance through speed, fluidity, and flexibility. And, her first book The New How, a critically acclaimed 2010 book on collaborative work (Oreilly Media, 2010) addresses the ways to close the persistent strategy-execution gap, which she dubs the “Air Sandwich”.

She is a Harvard Business Review (HBR) writer on the topics of culture, innovation, and strategy. She transfers lessons from both her successes and failures. She’s been profiled by the Wall Street Journal, and published by BusinessWeek, Forbes, and AdAge. She is a contributing author to four additional books; two on Social Media, one on Wisdom Leadership, and a best-selling management anthology book.

You can follow her ideas on Twitter. She is ranked and regarded in the top .001% of “thinkers to follow” on Twitter. She was recognized as “Most Influential Voice on Twitter”, 2011, by The Independent (UK), and as “Smart People to Follow on Twitter” by Business Insider in 2012.
