The Core of Onlyness

Having first introduced the idea of Onlyness in 2012, in the HBR-published book 11 Rules for Creating Value in the Social Era, I haven’t talked about it much in a management-specific context. But the champions of Thinkers50 recently asked that I do so for Smart Manager magazine, and I thought it might be a good exercise. So this is the fully-geeked-out management reason for why Onlyness matters.
